My name is Matt Brown and I am delighted about the opportunity of getting to know your child and begin blending their interests and abilities together to create works of art they will be proud of and passionate about sharing.  Experimenting with art, particularly in childhood years, helps children develop valuable life-skills such as perseverance, respect for others, and discovering one’s own individuality, or voice.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Art and Elementary Education from Northwest Nazarene University.  This is my eighth year teaching.  After a year at third/fourth grade, I transitioned into first/second,

where I spent the following three years.  With the opening of Idaho Arts Charter School’s Primary Campus, came an opportunity (dream come true) to teach visual arts.

Idaho Arts Charter School is indeed my families "home away from home".  My wife Stephanie teaches fifth/sixth at the secondary campus and my three children Annika (18-graduated from I.A.C.S.), Riley (16), and Camden (14) have all prospered and enjoyed this wonderful school and the many talented and dedicated teachers that helped and nurtured them along the way.  As a family, we love to travel and have a special fondness for the beach!
